Mission Statement:
….the LORD has anointed Healing Heart Outreach Ministry to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent her to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; ……..to comfort all who mourn, ……to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified. (Isaiah 61:1-3 nkjv)
Then Jehu said (then we say), “Now come with me, and see how devoted I am to the LORD…” (2 Kings 10:16a nlt)
Goal and Accomplishments:
Healing Heart Outreach Ministry (HHOM) was established in 2015. One of its purposes was and continues to be to reach out to and help vulnerable children in crisis situations both within our local communities and abroad. We do this by supporting ministries who need help in meeting the needs of such, i.e. orphans, street children, victims of exploitation and abuse, and those rescued from sex and labor trafficking. For the first five years two organizations we supported to accomplish our purpose were Covenant House and Samaritan’s Purse. However, since 2020 we began supporting a ministry in Uganda (Healed Hearts Foundation - HHF) and have continued since then. For more information about their outreach work and involvement in communities visit their website healedheartsfoundation.org
In 2020 during the covid crisis and all by God’s grace we were able to link up with Annah (Our Grace Radio ambassador in Uganda) who shared a heart compassion as our ministry. During this time and prior she would go out in the streets with a few other individuals, and gather children to give them food. That year, starting off with about 100 children, we gave and since then have continued to give her team as much financial support as possible to help feed, provide housing, clothing, and medical care for these children. We have been able to help pay for major medical surgeries and dental care.
In order for their work to operate legally they had to register as an official entity. We were able to help in the official listing of Healed Hearts Foundation (HHF) in the city of Mbarara Uganda January of 2021, and also in setting up a website. This ministry has limited means to accessing funds, has limited resources, and is catering for so many street children and orphans, many of whom are let out to the streets as young children to fend for themselves. Initially for $100,00 a month we helped them rent two rooms, one for the younger children ages 3-10 years and the other ages 11-15 years. Each room accommodates 30 children. The older ones continue to sleep on the streets. In October of 2024 the ministry had access to two more rooms which was a great need since the number of children needing help rose to 200 over the four years of its official listing.
Right now we are able to help provide one meal a day for three weeks in the month. Our goal is to raise more money to provide at least one meal a day. They use the food money to buy beans and corn meal which is their staple food, and firewood to cook. For the rest of the day, and on days when a meal is not provided, food from the garbage bins remains a source of supply. Unfortunately, though not as rampant anymore because of available provision, some of the older ones continue to inhale fuel (jet engine fuel) in order to take away their hunger pains and craving for food. Sadly too, because these older ones are exposed out in the streets, many are being sodomized. We want to continue to be as much a support to this ministry’s work as possible as the Lord asks of us.
Matthew 25:34-40 nkjv
34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
GRACE RADIO - UGANDA
Part of Healing Heart Outreach Ministry’s mission statement is to preach good tidings to the poor and set at liberty the captive. Such are those needing the word of God that sets them free and follow up to help them understand their new found commitment to God and journey with Him. We have been able to reach the whole of Uganda and bordering cities through this radio station. There are countless testimonies of people being delivered from witchcraft (of which many did not know it was sinful) and many turning from the Muslim faith to Christianity. We raise money to buy bibles for them and pay $120.00 a month to be on this Radio Station every first Saturday of the month, with Pastor Craig Mattheson teaching. Many have been baptized as a result of accepting Christ through the word taught on this station. We are praying that God raises up laborers there because the harvest is plenty.
